Application of ozone generator in pharmaceutical wastewater treatment

The removal effect of ozone on the chroma of wastewater is very good, COD is removed according to the first-order reaction law, that is, the longer the reaction time, the better the removal effect of ozone on wastewater, acidic substances are produced after ozone treatment, and ozone oxidation can improve the biodegradability of wastewater. So what does the ozone generator do?
The transition metal oxide of ozone generator has a strong catalytic effect, which can greatly shorten the pretreatment time of ozonation. The factors affecting catalytic ozonation, such as initial pH value, amount of ozone, catalyst dosage, reaction time and initial pollutant concentration, were investigated. It was found that alkaline conditions had a general effect on catalytic ozonation pretreatment of pharmaceutical wastewater, and other factors were related to the specific concentration of wastewater.

The combined ozonization /SBR process catalyzed by ozone generator can be used to treat experimental pharmaceutical wastewater. The effluent can meet the national secondary discharge standard, and the total COD removal rate in the whole process of the combined process can reach 94%.
The reaction mechanism of aniline ozonated by ozone generator was studied. At least two degradation pathways were found. Aniline is widely used in pharmaceutical industry. When treating the same amount of wastewater and other reaction conditions remain unchanged, the COD removal rate of wastewater by ozone is increased to 74.2%, and the effect of optimized post-treatment is significantly improved.
